Symptom Assessment Manager (SAM) is the brain-child of Dr Samantha Loi who is an old age psychiatrist and neuropsychiatrist working in Victoria, Australia. It aims to improve the ease and accuracy of disruptive symptom tracking in disturbed psychiatric or geriatric patients. Having this information can make identification of causes and their relief much easier.
Some of the symptom descriptions used in SAM are taken from the Neuropsychiatric Inventory (Cummings et al. Neurology 1994;44:2308-2314).
